I love that we try so hard to be like Corvallis ( our nearest and hippest neighbors), but don't quite succeed. I hate that we get no respect. I hate that we have so very few great restaurants ( no, Applebees's isn't a great restaurant). I love that we have beautiful parks and a marvelous Summer concert series ( for free!). I hate that they are developing so many new homes on the surrounding farmland. ( 250,000 dollars to live 3 feet from your next door neighbor!) I love that I can remember when it didn't look like huge strip mall. |

He didn't care for much else at the time. We knew he wouldn't want anything at Applebees, so we brought a Happy Meal in so that he could eat when we ordered. They told us we couldn't let him have it and treated us like dirt. I have never been back. |

| tanzido | Mar 28, 2007 8:22pm | | I live in Grants Pass, have a business in Gold Beach and a daughter in Portland....best of all worlds! I visit the coast once a week, Portland once a month and live on 3.5 acres near the Rogue River. I love the scenery of Grants Pass and the coast. I guess I miss most Trader Joe's...gotta get to Eugene or PDX for that. We have a pretty cool Grower's Market in Grants Pass though that provides me with wonderful locally raised fruits and veggies from March through November. |

We have wood carvers, jewlary makers, musicians of all sorts, glass blowers, weavers, painters, photographers. There are allot more artist but it would take me forever to name them all. We are 60 or so miles from the Cresent City and we get the breeze from the ocean which feels great. The Oregon Caves which is a 90 minute walk through is magificent to see and well worth the trip. What I like about this area besides the things I have already mentioned is that it stays a beautiful green here throughout the summer. We have rivers here and tons of black berry bushes that deliver the most sweet treats you have ever tasted. This is a nice small town for people to come visit and coming from a New Yorker that says allot. |

| sblan | Apr 8, 2007 4:36pm | | I'm from Eugene...it's a wonderful place! Well, I love almost everything about Eugene, it's a fun town, lot's of bike paths, the beautiful McKenzie river, very artistic people around here - I guess I would have to say about what I don't like, is the town has grown so large, that the roads are really busy at times, still traffic does not compare to any big cities, but different from when I was younger - yikes, many, many years ago..... |

| pastdaze | Apr 9, 2007 11:00pm | | I live in Grants Pass. It is crowded and seems to grow a little more every week. For all the people that are here there is not a lot business wise. We have no real mall, nor a decent bookstore. Were it not for the wife's family being here we would move further north. |
